Everyman wants to be able to grow a thick beard or mustache from the age they realize they should be able to. There are a few major factors that influence how much you’ll have, including genetics, hormones, nationality, injuries, nutrition and certain medications you get. While you cannot fight nature and your genes there are a few things you can do to get the facial hair to grow faster.
How to Make Facial Hair Grow Faster
Once you know there are a variety of different causes that can make your beard or mustache thinner than you’d like there are also numerous ways you can help it to grow faster.
1. Clean and Stimulate Hair Follicles
- Cleaning. When hair follicles are blocked with grime or dirt, you hair cannot grow out of follicles. If you desire to get nice and thick facial hair, ensure to scrub the face twice a day or any time it is dirty with sweat or oil.
- Massage. You can stimulate the hair follicles of your face just like you stimulate the follicles on your scalp with massage. In order to get thicker hair, you can start with massaging your face 10-15 minutes twice a day.
- Shaving. Sticking to a regular shaving schedule will help to stimulate follicles to continue producing new growth. But this has not yet been scientifically proved.
2. Consume More Vitamins
Eating a well-balanced diet will help to insure you are getting all your proper nutrients. It will also mean that you’re getting essential fatty acids so that you need to eat a healthy diet with lots of vitamin rich foods.
- Biotin. Biotin or vitamin B7 is also useful for hair growth. You can find natural biotin in nuts and raw egg yolks (leave the white as they will reduce the benefit). The Biotin products will not help if applied topically but must be ingested. You will see results only when you take it consistently and it will take some time.
- Vitamins B5, B3 and B9. Get vitamins B5 and B3 for better bodily functions and increased circulation. You can find them in chicken, beef, fish, egg yolks, avocado and milk along with some whole grains. For thicker hair, eat lots of cereals, leafy greens and nuts—all good for providing folic acid (vitamin B9).
- Vitamin A. Eat more carrot, broccoli and leafy green vegetables for more vitamin A, which is important to healthy follicles and sebum.
- Vitamin C. For more vitamin C, get potatoes, green peppers, tomatoes and dark, leafy greens. This boosts your immune system which is essential for good hair growth.
- Vitamin E. Increase your vitamin E intake with more beans, nuts and leafy veggies. This helps with your blood flow and promotes hair growth.
3. Get Help from Certain Agents
- Eucalyptus. Eucalyptus is very helpful for hair growth, so you can pick up some products containing eucalyptus to encourage your facial hair to grow. Remove your dry or flaky skin by using moisturizer or cream with eucalyptus to create a better condition for hair to growth, thus growing a beard fast.
- Amla Oil and Mustard Leaves. Mix 1/4 cup of Amla oil with three tablespoons of mustard leave. Blend the mixture until it becomes a smooth paste. Apply the paste to your face and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Use cool water to rinse the skin and then wash with a cleanser. Refrigerator the rest paste which can be stored for 2-3 days.
- Cinnamon Powder and Lime Juice. Mix one tablespoon of cinnamon powder with two tablespoons of fresh-squeezed lime juice. Blend the mixture thoroughly and apply the thin layer to you face. Leave it 25-30 minutes. Rinse your face with cool water and then wash with a gentle cleanser. Pat your face dry with a dry and clean towel, and apply moisturizer. Repeat this remedy twice a day, and stop once irritation occurs.
- Rogaine. Rogaine contains minoxidil and can easily get your facial hair stimulated for fresh growth. Do be cautious about using it for a prolonged period of time. It is sold over the counter at most major department stores and pharmacies. Apply it to the facial hair growing area and wash your face after 4hours. There may be side effects like burning of the eye, irritation and etching at the applied area, dandruff and unwanted hair growth. Please consult your doctor before using Rogaine.
4. Keep Healthy Lifestyle
- Enough Rest. When you sleep, your body grows. Your body use sleep time to repair injuries and grow hair even though you’re not in the age of growing in height. So make sure you get enough rest and uninterrupted sleep, which is the first thing to attain your goal. Although most adults need to sleep at least six hours, the closer to 8-hour sleep they can get, the better.
- Stress Management. Stress can cause all sorts of wear and tear, particularly on the immune system, which will cause slow hair growth in the first place.
- No Smoking. Smoking can lower your immunity which will also decrease your hair growth.
5. Seek Medical Help
If you have tried all the home remedies you can find but still notice no improvement, it’s time to consider medical advice.
If you’ve exhausted yourself trying all natural home remedies without any improvement, try to seek medical advice.
- Testosterone Therapy. A visit to your physician may have you started on testosterone therapy. This therapy should be regulated closely, as too much testosterone can backfire or actually cause your hair growth to be inhibited. Testosterone treatment may be done through injections, topical applications or oral ingestion (not recommended because liver trouble may be triggered). The testosterone can’t be stored, so you may need to continue the regimen until you see facial hair growth. In some cases, testosterone takes more than a year to provide results.
- Plastic Surgeon. If you realize the methods mentioned above are useless or you, a trip to the plastic surgeon may be helping. Here they can treat your hair loss by transplanting some of the hair follicles from the back of your head to your face. The procedure is generally simple enough that it is outpatient. Most patients report minor irritation to the skin. Moreover, it is a procedure that can take nearly two years to provide the results you are after.
